3 Movies Review.

Ok, instead of reviewing one movie at a time like i use to do, this time i will make it three. Supposed to be 4 but i really don't want to comment on Christmas Carol.

The first movie i want to review is Twilight New moon.

Twilight New Moon



This movie is so 'scary' as i can see that girls can kill for this movie, can break up with their boyfriend for this movie and they can do anything for this movie. Girls power are proven as this movie gain a millions on its opening day. 'Scary'.

So i went to watch this movie, honestly, not my type of movie, i did not watch the first one because everyone said " Too dull, boring, not many action, girls type movie". So when i went to watch this sequal, i am not biased because i did not watch the first one. I am judging it as it is the first story from Twilight i ever see.

So, in term of stars, i gave this movie 4 over 5 stars! Not bad. The story is flowing easily to be digest and the quarrel between wolf and vampire, it is like watching the other part of underworld ( a movie released years ago showing the war between the vampire family and werewold family). I would say the story is much influenced by Underworld 1 and 2. Why? Is the writer a big fan of Underworld? It is the same thing in underworld where vampire have classy family and werewolf are normal punk kind of guy.

Well. forget underworld, this movie is worth to watch. No wonder people crave it. And no wonder girls like it, because lots of sexy body showed in the movie. They even slow motion it. damn exploitation of male. Male should make a protest or whatever because we are exploit by female now. haha.

However, the most irritating part of this movie is the ending. Don't want to tell you all about it. Who ever saw this movie, you must realize that the ending is sucks.

Still, one great movie for this season.

Ninja Assasin



I never plan to watch this one. The trailer is not convincing enough to show whether this movie is good or not. I watched it though, because everyone is saying this movie is the best or whatever.

Well, i gave 2.5 over 5 star for this movie. Too much idiocy. This movie does not even make sense.

The movie started good showing the legend of ninja and some flashback of ninja training. As it developed, too much nonsense has enter the storyline. World goverment want ninja to be killed? Ninja attacking the goverment high security building? Rain (as raizo in this movie) is captured and tied inside a monitored cage or something? What is this? What kind of story is this? I just love to watch the flashback because it is more emotionally driven and rationale compare to the present storyline.

It is like war between gun and ninja.. what the hell? Why goverment need to attack ninja in the end if ninja is really a secret society? What evidence do they have as earlier they said ninja don't even existed because there is no proof.

The story becoming more nonsense and nonsense until the end.

For the figthing scene, hmm,, lame. Everyone can do that kind of stuff ( i mean the choreograph). It is not beautifully crafted. What is the different between looking at a movie where the actor use gun to kill and ninja as in ninja assasin use to kill? Not really much fighting but more to throwing and cutting. Blood everywhere. You can't even see what is cut there. Only blood everywhere.

And a ninja can heal themselves like they have some sort of ability? Should throw that part away. No need to put this stuff in the our modern world movie.

However, salute to Mr.Rain as he is really putting much effort in this film. If you realize, only he in this film who act seriously compare to other actor and actress. So, respect for him. I think he has a bright future in hollywood movie.

Anyway, if you like blood ( like you are a vampire or something), watch this movie. make you thirsty. It is like kill bill but more like kill bill in the dark. So many blood everywhere.

PS - Why is it only the hero been trained as a ninja and other only as a sidekick? Where is that Ninja based exactly? How come a ninja is a korean? How come everyone of them are speaking english. Does Ninja in japan really speak english only?

Raging Of Phoenix



Have you seen this girl before? Do you recognize her? Maybe you do maybe you are not. She is the girl who star in the last movie called Chocolate or 'Fury' here in malaysia. During that time, he act as a mentally challenged girl who can fight, and this time, as a lonely girl who can fight.

She does really can fight well. This movie does not have that much promotion as other movie from hollywood. Yes, if you all did not realize, you are all brainwashed by hollywood, by this time you cannot even watch movie from asia because your brain region for that has been deleted. Or simply you are too proud to become a westerner while actually you are living in Malaysia and your english is broken.

I also does not really attracted to watch this movie, but i watched it anyway, i am movie mania. And i could not believe that this movie is not that bad, and it is much more better than ninja assasin. If you watch Ninja assasin fight scene and you are stun by it, then watch fighting scene in this movie and you will have sudden cardiac death.

The choreograph of fighting scene are beautifully crafted as in Ong Bak, Tom Yam guong and Fury. I think the fighting scene in this movie is better to compare from the previous same genre or thai martial art movie. And to compare it with hollywood, or hongkong movie, jackie chan, jet li, you named it, nothing can beat this movie.

All the move during each fighting scene is impossible to imagine. You would never know that kind move is possible to be use in martial art.

I gave this movie 4 over 5 start plus 1 moon because that girl really know how to spin and jump and many stunts are performed by herself. So i guess for my review today, this movie win it by 1 moon. Twilight does not even get a moon from me. haha.



So that is the conclusion of my review. I don't want to talk on the storyline of each movie because it would not be fun if i do that. You should watch it first than agree or disagree with me.

Idiot

1. I have witness so many variety of human style, whim, since a few years ago. Sometimes, people act like the most stupid person in the world but still, they never see it. I don't know why.

2. I was inside a lift and ready for my way down from level 8 when i found that all the level number inside the lift had been pressed. So i have to stop at every level of the building. People who this kind of stuff, it the most selfish person in the world. Why do they need to make others life miserable like them? Obviously their life are miserable since happy people won't do this kind of thing.

3. I was inside a coach bus on my way to my hometown. The bus is fully aircond and suddenly i smell something in the air. There is people smoking in the bus. I guess i have written about this before. I am stressing that smoking is harmful to you and people around you. I guess, a person who smoked is stupid enough to read a sign which can be read by a first grade student. " No Smoking".

4. I was in a mall when i see a group of young teen girl dressing half naked walking around. A guy glimpse at them and they start to mock offensively saying that group of guy is perverted. Luckily it was not me. It's funny that a girl half naked walking around in public are hoping that no one would look at them because they are half naked. I guess dressing code are getting worse and worse. People should be taught about dressing code. What do you need to wear in the mall, what do you need to wear in a dinner party or whatsoever. Because i could not think of a reason on why a girl dress like that doing in the mall? They supposed to be at the beach.

5. I was in cinema and there is people who was very excited until every movement in the movie accompany by the word " Wow", "Gila", "Barulah", "Padan muka kau", " Jangan". Like the movie would change. Sometimes there is a scene where we could not resist to say this word but. every "movement" = seconds?

6. I was in a line of queue to order my food in a fast food restaurant when suddenly a person in front of me start to "loyar buruk" with the girl behind the counter. I don't know how to translate loyar buruk in English. They just talk nonsense. Example - Cashgirl: yes sir, what do you like to eat? The 'idiot lawyer': Makan angin.
Then he and his friend laugh. Do they get paid for that? Do their time really that cheap? I guess so. If not why do they waste so much time by doing a nonsense conversation when there is a long line up behind them?


What is actually people today are thinking? There is so many other idiot situation i have encounter and the number is increasing everyday? Why thus our society becoming more stupid today? Is there is problem in our education system? Not really. This is common sense. Common sense. People lack of common sense.

maybe people look at me and think that i am a little slow, not a type of guy who can burst a hundreds word during a quarrel. I may slow in my act. But i use my common sense when i do act. Sometimes i am a little blur but i won't do anything that can effect other because of the lack of common sense in my action.

Please..please save me from the world of idiocy like this.

ICORM 2009

This is the 2nd International conference of Rural Medicine held in UMS today. Actually, i am not sure why i participate in this conference but i remember they ask a few weeks ago to 5th year student, whoever want to become representative you can submit your name, and all i think at that time is the free meal they would give during this conference so then, i go and submit my name. I thought that during this conference i can sleep or be lazy but then, it was kind of interesting until i kept my eye open and my ears listening to all the presentation through out the day.



During this conference, they are multiple symposium with different title of presentation and you can choose which symposium you want to enter. At first, i chose symposium 2 listening to all the challenges in rural healh in Sabah. In the afternoon, i choose symposium 1 talking about health globalisation or something but i don't like it and i can't stand it. So i went to free oral paper presentation.

I manage to only listen to 2 free oral paper presentation which is about melidiosis and another one regarding new technique of tubal exteriorization and ligation or something.

at 4 pm, i went to listen to the forum discussing the global rural health challenge.

I love this conference since i can hear different perspective of rural health from many countries such as nigeria, sri lanka, australia, etc.

The key person for this year conference is Prof Victor Inem from Nigeria. His key presentation is about rural health in nigeria. He was briliant, plus he sang a fun song during ICORM dinner later after the forum end.

Animal and Me!

Even though i am not a vegetarian, but i don't hate animal. So to prove this, i went to Tuaran Crocodile farm last yesterday to show my appreciation to various kind of animals. This is a deer i guess. I don't know the exact name for it..haha. but it look delicious if we grilled it.

No. I won't eat them because they are cute and still alive in front of me. I came to this farm not to eat the animal to just look at them and learn things from them. So many thing we can learn from animal. By looking at them, we will feel lucky because we are human and we do not have to suffer like them in the cage. Should thing like this be stopped? I don't know. Some people might against the idea of caging an animal for exhibition. However, i am sure if you let this deer wander around, they might only live for a few second before somebody grilled them with pepper and salt, and few other spices.



The reason i went to this place is too see crocodile. This is by far the third time i went to this farm. I don't like crocodile, in fact i fear them. Still, i enjoyed spending my time in this farm. Plus, this is my last saturday before i start medical posting. I will be busy then. So, i rather spend my time with the crocodile here. haha.



Do you know that crocodile can jump? I have witness a jumping crocodile when i was in Sarawak earlier this year. It can jump around 2-3 meters high. By this fact, i feel insecure when i visit this farm. Are you aware that the fences for this farm is not that high? Maybe Tuaran crocodile cannot jump like the one in Sarawak. I hope so.



What do we called Ikan Keli in English? I am so sorry because my english is terrible. Is it catfish? i don't know. But this is Ikan keli. So huge and many. All are hungry. If you fell into this pond, you will immediately die because this fish is poisonous. But we can eat it. It taste nice. The poison only localized to its... ( somewhere in its body, like a stung).



It is really big you know. Can you see that? A size of my gf arms. If we grilled this fish, we can eat it for maybe at least 2-3 months. haha.



What is so special about Tuaran Crocodile farm is you can feed the animal. Not like other farm where you only can watch them from the other side of the fence. This interactive features make this farm more interesting and fun, especially for the kids.



This is one of the reason i went to this farm. I love these beaver. aren't they cute? So cute. Sometimes the word beaver sound nude to me.



Haha. they look fierce but still cute and adorable. They are waiting for my fish. Yes. We can feed them too here. You can buy a live fresh fish and feed them. I gave them 10 fish but still they are hungry and keep asking for more.

I don't want to give more fish because i felt very terrible throwing a live fish to them. The fish keep swimming away very fast to save his life but in the end, it was caught by one of the beaver and get chewed alive! I don't know whether i am doing good or not by feeding the poor little beaver or should i have mercy for the fish?



This is rare to see. A crocodile lifted up by a man (performer). His intention is to show the audience the most expensive part of crocodile skin, its belly. It cost around 5k-9k depending on the age of the crocodile and the species. Wow. There is money in its belly.




Humm..oral inspection. Mouth examination. This one is a huge crocodile and it is very aggresive. But i guess does not matter how aggresive you are, you still can put some good show for the audience. The crocodile named Bujang Tuaran. Most big crocodile are given surname 'bujang'. this is influence from Bujang Senang which is the most famous crocodile here in Malaysia.




Another pond full of big fish.



This is the last animal i want to show here. It is called bearcat. I am not sure whether it really named bearcat or it is call bearcat because it look like a bear + cat. It look aggresive. And the claw is sharp like bear.



To our suprise this animal is so gentle and it only eat fruits and vegetables. Haha. It look scary and flesh eating but it does not. It is so cute. The way he ate, look just like a cat. but its claw really look like a bear.


So, that is it. I am showing my appreciation to animal. Hmm...this is my end of my holiday. After this, every entry in my blog would be talking around medicine and medicine some more i guess. haha. I love holiday. Who does not?

I want to have holiday like the old time... or at least like other courses in the university. The non-medicine one. I really envy them when they have 1 months holiday and 3 months holiday every year and semester. Me? I never taste end of year holiday since i enter medical school. I guess life as a medical student is not the same like other college student. hate it yet i am so lucky to be in it. maybe i will find my life later..

Food Entry 4 (Kota Kinabalu)

Okay, this time i will introduce Grill Lokan ( a type of shell or clam or whatever). This cuisine can be found in Jalan Sulaman at road side on the way to Tuaran. This place that we cannot even call a restaurant or stall as it does not look like one offering only 3 menu. This grilled lokan, Coconut puding and burned coconut.

Regarding the grilled lokan, it was so fresh i guess. They just grilled it on charcoal and they add some chili and lime juice on top of it. It cost RM10 for at least 40 pieces of grilled lokan depending on the size. If you choose the big one, it will only consist of maybe 30 pieces.


So we done eating those lokan. It was served with soya sauce, vinegar and chili as a dip.



This is coconut puding. It is very famous until everyone who went along this road need to take a stop and grab a this refreshing cold pudding. Cost RM2 per cup.


This is something different I have tasted today. It was burned coconut. If you look at the coconut before they open it as in this picture, it look just like a blank charcoal coconut which does not seem to be edible. But when they open it like this, i guess it is edible. The taste is somewhat different from fresh coconut. A little bit more strong. I don't know why they burn it. I prefer the fresh one.


If you are in Kota Kinabalu Sabah, you should maybe at least try this few cuisine i have introduce here. But if you are scared to hawker food for the risk of acquiring food borne diseases, i guess i would not recommend you this. However, if you want to taste something different, it worth giving a try.

Finishing Holiday week

First of all.. within this one week holiday, there is nothing much that i do in my university since i am broke and i guess you can't go anywhere fun without money. But that does not mean that you cannot have fun without money. I have fun doing something simple such as running around UMS. It was tiring and fun.

As lot of people aware, UMS is the most beautiful university in Malaysia and i am proud and so lucky to be here. Where else you can get a very beautoful scenary without going outside your university? Everyday wake up with a lot of oxygen from the green environment, and there is so many place to go running around when you have free time.

I guess my holiday this time was not so boring as i expect it to be when i'm broke. Going around my university and doing nothing is enough fun for me. haha.

Don't know why i am writing this entry.

Food Entry Relapse

This is mango cheese cake we bought from multibake to celebrate my girlfriend's 23th birthday. And believe what, this cake was awesome. So nice. I could not believe there is something this delicious. The top of it is like mango puding with some white brown fruit (which i don't know what it is but it taste sweet and sour like plum). Below the layer of mango puding is cheese cream and the floor of it consist of sponge cheese cake. So delicious... nyum nyum. I recommend this to all of you. Get it at Multibake kota kinabalu ( i bought in Oneborneo branch) for oly Rm3.80 per piece.

Late Night Post

1. First of all.. i am not sure to classify this as a late night post or early morning post since it is already morning at this moment.

2. Today's Khutbah during friday prayer caught my attention. It says that muslim does not prepare well for celebrating aidiladha which fall on 27 november 2009 this year. This is because most of the animal that will be sacrificed is poor nourish and does not match the criteria of being a sacrifice. I don't know. Not sure. But i do believe this since every year, the cow that they are going to cut is thin and look unhealthy. I guess, this fact can be use to improve ourselves in future. We need be more sincere in what we are doing.

3. I guess i hate vegetarian the most. Not those monk or maybe a buddhist who does not eat meat. They do it for their belief and religion which i will not offend. I am talking about vegetarian, that promote other to become vegetarian. Is vegetarian even a religion which you can preach other to become one? And i should call them an animal activist. Some vegetarians does not consume meat product but they do it for their benefit but some of them trying to preach other to save animal and whatever they want to say.

4. Today i've heard that vegetarian are opposing aidiladha celebration because lot of animal will be slaughtered. I guess this is too much.

5. Human live this long in this world because of of our ability to eat. I guess only vegetables and fruits will not make us survive. It is proven that we need protein from animals, and other nutrient, fats, to produce energy and to make ourselves healthy and strong.

6. Aidiladha is a very unique celebration. it is not a celebration to celebrate yourself but a celebration, and the only celebration where the poor will be given free meat for them to cook and eat. Tons of fresh meat will be distribute to every muslim during this 3 days celebration. It was a good thing to do. Instead of celebrating a celebration by eating a lot until you cannot breathe, aidiladha is a celebration where giving is more than eating by yourself.

7. There is also lot of opposing word saying that Islam is not fair since we cannot give the meat to the non-muslim. I can't comment on this. because i am not too sure about it. but i guess there is nothing wrong with that and it should not be debated in the first place. I believe the statement like this is just like... jealous. Haha. Funny.

8. I believe if a non muslim guy is starving to death, i myself, in my opinion will gave those meat to them even my muslim friend said that i am commiting a sin by doing that. but since no one is starving, let's distribute it to us first.

Rat Race

UPSR result out today. I've been watching all the responds from those who success in their standard 6 examination in the television. Some cry, some laugh, some excited. I have been through their emotion. Emotion of getting what you deserve for studying so hard and make your parent proud. Congratulation to all of the young generation which will become the future leader of our country.

However, something bothered me. Not only the students interviewed in the TV but also some of their parent. From some of the responds I heard, some of the parent are kind of labeling their children as a 'product' that they created which i think is not appropriate thing to do.

Yes, for years, we have been bounded in a traditional way of parenting yet day by day we are experiencing some changes in the way we look at out children. Children are not a product that parent create but an asset which parent nourish and shape.

I guess we should not live in a mindset of 'rat race' where children are equal to the rat and the race begin when other children reach a step forward from ours.

I'm myself is still too young and do not have a child on my own. But i believe that competing your child as you pleased is wrong. I would never want myself to be in that race however, i guess i am since my parent also a traditional parent. However, my parent is one of those parent who are lucky to be in the right direction. Since the race does not actually predict the future you want to be, the result may vary. Your child may be become what you want and he/she want, or he/she may become a person that you want but they did not. This will create an 'anomaly' which sometimes result in creating a monster and a big headache.

I am opposed to the theory of 'creating a child'. I believe, guiding your children is enough. What he/she become later, is her own decision.

maybe for a standard 6 children, rat race is not a problem. But when they reach the level where their hormone got kick up and surge rapidly, you would have a lot of argument as a result of the race you have started.

Sometimes children want to be what you asked them to be, but not all of them would. Our mindset should be changed. Help our children to become a human, not ordering them to be.

I hope when i have a child, i would go back and read this post so that i would remember someday, that my children is what they want to be.


p/s: One of the respond from the successful UPSR student's parent in the TV - " I have prepare my child since standard 1 for this. It is consistent and by this consistency, he scored 5A. I am happy".

Fuh. Give them a break. I guess that child already lost his 6 years childhood for that single 'rat race'.


p/s 2: I scored 5A in UPSR, 8A in PMR, 8A 1B in SPM, 3.88/4 pointer in Matriculation college and i believe i am also in the race. But to make people understand, I am lazy enough to go to school until i was in standard 3, and did not know how to do math until 4. I play much during PMR and i am myself shocked that scored 8A. I study and play in my SPM. I enjoyed too much in matriculation college. And when i enter medical school, i start to understand that we need to enjoy or life more than i have done before.

however, med school is too hard for that. even though i am not the top scorer, i still find it hard. Chow chow to study........

p/s 3: One kid say in TV just now, that he want to become a doctor. I hope their parent would guide him and make his study enjoyful until he reach his ambition. I too, have that ambition when i score 5A in UPSR and thank God i am in med school right now.

Act cool like a fool

23 years living in this world, this earth, small earth, i have seen so many things and so many type of people.

One type of people i would like to highlight here is a group of people who want to act cool but turn out they are look like a fool.

Did coolness embedded in our gene? No one sure about that. But there are certain people who are so cool until we cannot deny about it. And most of this people are cool naturally.

By the way, what is definition of cool in my perspective. I could not define it as dictionary do but i do know how a cool people act and talk and treat you. When someone is so cool, even he is a guy, i can feel it and i sense it good and i would always know he is really cool. But if that people is acting cool like a fool, much easy to sense it.


For example, a guy who want to ride a bus have to queue up in a very long line under a hot sun. Then the bus come. A guy who are infront of the line suddenly let all the girls go into the bus first, everyone of them.

Is this cool? No this is an act to show you are cool. Not cool. Do you know how much suffering other guys have to wait before getting into the bus just you want to act cool in front of the girls? This is fool not cool.

When you are a usual customer in a restaurant, you came to restaurant with a big smile and then simply take your food ignoring other people who are waiting for their food earlier than you. You must feel very cool but hell no. You are acting like a fool. A cool person does not do that. Luckily you are dealing with a calm and patient guy, if not, your act of cool with be paid by a haematoma in your eye.

You wear jeans and a t-shirt with a big letter on it saying "fuck" or " I am Metal". You walk around arrogantly and sit at the road side and you are teasing every girl you see passing in front of you. You think you are cool... Obviously every reader of my post here would say "hell no". You like a dump of our society.

You are watching a show, not a concert, a show. Maybe some annual dinner or something where they must be some people who are presenting their talent on the stage, then you suddenly shouting loudly " Woohoo! Tu dia!" or "That's nice, one more time one more time" or " Boooo, stupid! Go back to you village"... you must feel you are so cool at that time but then you are the only person shouting!!! Not cool. Not cool.

Girls also can be quite fool when she try to act cool. I guess, by acting cool, you already look like a fool.

Usually a girl who want to act cool, become a girl who always ignore and look at other with a disgust even though a person does not do anything at all.

Another type of girl who want to act cool is when she started to acknowledge other to be not cool, and that is when she actually look so much fool.

I like cool people. People who when you ask question answer it honestly. A person who wear something that fit to him/her. A person who does not busy with other stuff. A person who do their own thing and be themselves. Person who always smile and laugh when you talk to them. People who are humble. Cool people.


We cannot acquire coolness. We cannot inherit it. How do people become so cool? Experience is the answer. Wise people who have lot of experience usually will automatically become cool. Do you realize how cool is your father? Did he became cool because he inherited it from your grandfather? I guess not. It is because he already been through a lot of things in his life. So ultimately, when you were born and now you are 23 years old, he must have live more than you do. So our father is the coolest person in the world. Your father too.

but ourselves? please.... we are not cool enough and please don't act like a fool to be cool. Just be ourselves. be yourself. Be myself. when we have kids later, i believe that we will be the coolest person, the coolest mother and father, in the whole world.

The most stupid person in the world.

A friend of mine throw me a simple question to discuss when we were sitting in a coffee house drinking coffee.

" Who is the most stupid person in this world?"

There will be a lot of answer to that question. Everyone can answer with their own opinion. It is a quite interesting question.

For a traditional person or a small kids, living in malaysia, the answer would be Pak Pandir or something. Yes, it is true that Pak Pandir is quite dumb and stupid yet he is still only a story. Whether he exist or not, no one knows.

For a person who have an open mind and education, the answer would be more serious and would be supported with fact and lots of opinion.

An educated friend of mine would answer, politician is the most stupid person. This is because they never learn from their mistake, always praise themselves and never realize that people are against them while keep saying that they have supporters.

Could not agree more yet i still doubt that. Politician for me is a clever person. Is there any other person in this world that can achieved so much power without doing much of thinking. Just by talking and some good humour and relationship, they would own a country. Politician is quite a smart person.

Another friend of mine said drug addict is the most stupid person in the world. They took something that can harm them and even kill them. It is stupid enough by just doing that. Agree. However, most of the people who involved in drugs either caused by family problem, peer pressure and sometimes trick into it. They are unfortunate person who are trap inside a prison of drugs.

as i answer, i would go in an area near to drugs which is smoking. In my opinion, smoker is the most stupid person in the world. Why? Because in drugs, either it was tricked or stress related issue bring you into it, while smoking, you don't have any indication to do it. You have a healthy life, wonderful family, and still you smoked.

Ok, smoker would disagree with me saying that they are also trap or trick into it, but as you know, smoking can be stop quite easily compare to drugs. Withdrawal symptoms of smoking is somewhat can be called less severe than withdrawal symptoms of drugs for example heroins.

Ok, smoker would disagree with me saying that they are stress and they would smoke to relieve their stresses. Well, that is the same stupid as drug addict do. So what is the different.

And the most stupid thing of all about smoker, they could not read or even understand a simple picture shown to them. I don't need to elaborate on that...

Every cigarette pack showing picture of the consequences of smoking and every boxed written clearly "Smoking is dangerous to your health". But how can we educate a person if that person is the most stupid person in the world.

Do no Harm

It was raining outside. The day is so dark today. I don't know what to do and what to write and what to think anymore.

My surgical senior posting exam already finish. I've learn a lot during this posting. I guess surgery is so nice and enjoyable. I never met a surgeon who look so depress and stress. As compare to medicine, surgery has more life component on it.

I'm going to medical posting within 2 weeks. I am so anxious about it. Medicine look so stressful yet medicine is why i went to medical school. So i will do my best.

I guess no matter where your medical school is, all medical student is miserable. If a medical student does not feel miserable, then i guess that is a bad warning sign.

I am in no position to talk regarding the quality of doctors today but somehow, i need to talk about it.

My medical school, is a not that 5 star medical school where no one can doubt regarding it standard. Mine is a new school with only 2 batch practicing now in hospital. We are being humiliated and torture because they need us to bring the name of the school on the list. So stress about it. And we always classified to be inferior. However, i guess that is not true after all. Maybe not all, but some of our graduates were excellent in hospital. My senior is so excellent. but when it came to my batch, there it goes again the same question, we are terrible, and we are the worst batch and everything.

But when i am doing my surgical posting, i've found that there are people who are more terrible than us, and those people are doctors. We are still med student so we are not doing harm to others right now but what about doctors who already practiced but look so terrible.

What i mean here is regarding some houseman who does not even know how to palpate abdomen (even blindly palpate without knowledge). And some house officer doctor who does not know how to examine cranial nerve which is i think, the thing that always being repeated in my medical school. We are scolded because our skills are not excellent but at least we know.

where does this doctors came from? I can assure you that from my observation, all this doctors that i am talking about right here is graduates from overseas.

My point here is, not regarding those doctors, don't care about them, but i just wondering, how much goverment pay for them studying oversea?

A friend of mine said to me that what if those money are used to build a hospital in sabah, it would be enough.

That is my point. What is the point sending this people to study from somewhere who does not teach a doctor how to examine patient? No point right.

I guess, people should think about this. The tax that people pay every year, were use to create a doctor who can bring more harm than good.

p/s: I learn my lesson. When i look at them, i reflect it to myself. And i will prepare hard to make sure that i don't be like them. This mean that they also a part of experience and i should thank them for teaching me a good lesson. By the way, i am not saying that every oversea student are no good. I have friends studying medicine oversea and guess what, i hope they do not came back to Malaysia since if they do, they would be better than me and surely they will kick my ass in hospital. haha.

Time Travel

What will you do if you can travel back in time? A friend of mine asked this question to me. Before I gave my answer, he would describe on how he will change his whole life by travelling back to the past.

It was fun to imagine.

One would go back in time and maybe instead of being a boring medical student, maybe he/she could be a genius physics student with multiple dean list and awards every year.

One would go back and change his/her decision so that he/she would not lose a friendship.

One would go back and I instead being one of the nerd guys in class, he/she could be the most famous girl in town.

Every day, we have a lot of decision to do. Up until now, I am 23 years old and I know that in my past, I made thousand of decision. It is like a puzzle. A game, once you step forward, you cannot go back.

After a long list of what people are going to do when they can travel through time, the question goes to me. What will I do?

What will I do if I can travel back in time. It is so fun to imagine however, I was pretty shocked when my friend ask me this question, and I came with a silent answer. Silent. I could not think of a thing that I want to change in my past. It seem that every decision I have made, I never regret it and I never want to change it even if I could.

How strange am I? I was so excited to answer the question but I do not have an answer to it.  What did I do wrong in the past? A lot. Which one do you regret? None. Which one you want to change even if you don't regret it? None.

In the end, I can't think of an answer.

I failed so many times but I do not want to change that because my failure that make me here today still struggling for the best. I lost friends but I do not want to change that because I lost friend because of a reason, it would be disastrous if I continue with it. I made a mistake, but from it I learn. I don't have anything to change.

The question is so fun and interesting, alas, I don't have answer to it.

I guess, if you do have thousand thing you regret, so what is the point of living... haha.

I forgot my patient.

The most shameful thing happen to me today.

It is actually started last week when i clerk this patient and i found out that she have relatives somewhere in my hometown and she keeps telling me that she know my family. Maybe she made a mistake however, i do realize that she did have relatives in my village. So i sit and spend some more time with her talking about my family and village. It has been a long time since I use my Brunei dialect so i have fun chattering with her.

And today, as usual i woke up at 5.45 am, prepare myself to go to the hospital, took some dull rushing breakfast, then i was there in the hospital early in the morning. full with my fully equipped medical student gear consist of stethoscope, log book, a pen torch, a few blank paper as a clerking sheets, and i walk to the ward confident to clerk patient. And the first room i went is my usual room that has been allocated to me. The first patient i saw was a lady sitting on the bed. I quickly approach to her and ask her name. She gave me her name. I start talking to her lightly and in quarter way of our conversation, she suddenly said, " I think my son really know your family. My son working in Labuan hospital".

Now i am feeling so awkward. Now i realize that i am clerking the same patient i have clerked last week. patient which i spent extra times because she kind of knew my family. I am totally ****. How could I? She remember me but i don't remember her. it was so rude of me.

I don't know why i could not easily remember a person face. it was hard to me. I hardly remember the face of all my patient, except a few of them. Since a long time ago, there are a lot of people who know me but i could not remember them. This problem continue until now.

I don't know what to say to that lady. Luckily i have this skill of rapidly changing my status from a total stranger to become a close friend, fakely, but effectively. So i did. I did talk with the patient again.

However, at the exact momment i am writing this entry, i am trying to remember that patient face again, but i could not. I guess i have to live with this 'disability'. At least i did try to remember them. At least i remember their problem. I guess i can live with that.

Anti traditional Medicine

Today i woke up early and went to Gaya Street. Gaya Sreet is a place somewhere in Kota Kinabalu and every sunday, a big 'tamu' (). It was nice to be there in sunday morning, you could buy most of the thing that you want from cloth, to local craft, to fruits, cakes and everything. You can also buy pets such as cats, hamster or dogs. Cat is quite expensive. The cheapest one cost rm360 (pure breed siamest cat).

During my visit there, i also found a lot of traditional medicine sold by different stall and almost all claimed that their product is the cure of everything. There is one stall promoting a bottle of dark fluid to me and claimed that the fluid can lower your blood pressure and cure many other disease. When asked about how it could do such thing, the girl promoter told that the fluid will cause increase in inside body temperature and this suppose to bring benefit to you, or is it?

Lot of people attentively listening to the explanation. On what basis that thing could lower blood pressure and cure disease? Did they investigate it in the lab? I guess looking from the bottle, it is only a recycled bottle, nothing special about it. No FDA or maybe KKM approval. But still, people would listen to it.

Try to count in our country, how many people belief traditional medicine, and how many people belief modern medicine. I guess, more people would belief traditional medicine. In my experience, a lot of people i've met, most of them is do not trust modern medicine.

Why this happen? Mainly because education. Do you realize how hard you would explain the mechanism of beta blocker to reduce blood pressure? A medical school lecture would take one hour to describe it and many medical student do not understand anything at all after the lecture. Not until they revise it, read it a couple more times before they get it.

Compare to traditional medicine, it is always simple. Explanation like " this water will increase your body temperature and make you sweat, and all the disease will come out from your body", is so simple for everyone to understand. No need one hour to make a normal person nod their head and could not agree more.

However, simple explanation does not reflect the benefit or the harm of a medication. What makes modern medicine unpopular is, they always have side effect compare to traditional medicine. Do you ever heard a traditional medicine have a major side effect that can make you die? Never even though they do. But modern medicine, you will always found at the back of the bottle or whatever, regarding the side effect and contraindication.

I am not a person who are totally anti with traditional medicine. I would be fair. But traditional medicine supposed to be the last resort for everything. But more and more people are going to traditional medicine first before going to hospital. And when this happen, they always in the late stage and who would take the blame, those people on modern medicine site (doctors, nurse, and the whole hospital).

Hippocrates II is the father of medicine. If this greek man does not exist in this world, we would suffer today. Medicine created by him making us survive until today. Make us feel safe in combating trillions of bacteria and virus that share the same earth with us.

If you look back to those early day where medicine is created, do you think that hippocrates suddenly have an idea and make a medication out of nowhere. No. basically, medicine exist since long time before hippocrates was born. What he do is so simple, he argue regarding disease cause by God punishment and bad spirit that was believed by people before him. Even his grandfather hippocrates I use this this kind of medicine which today are known as traditional medicine. Hippocrates divide religion and spiritual belief from medicine. Since that day, medicine was born. That is the basic.

So if we look at the traditional medicine nowadays, it is actually the remnant of early medicine that is used by people before hippocrates was born. I guess traditional medicine will bring you nowhere. Trust me.

No matter how many times i say this, most people will always keep their fixed belief regarding spiritual thing such as ghost, semangat, and demons.

i have read a book written by a modern muslim scholar earlier this year saying that what is mean by "perkara ghaib"in Koran is actually describing about heaven and hell and world after death. it also reflect the unknown thing that is really exist around us such as genetic technology and medicine ( as you all know only 10% of medical knowledge is understandable until today). So this is what is meant by perkara ghaib. However, muslim would take a more simple route, believing that perkara ghaib is demons, spirit, and anything similar to it. We will get nowhere. Nowhere with this fixed belief.
